Ramón Bilbao blev grundlagt i 1924 og ligger i Haro, som er hovedbyen i Rioja Alta. Deres Gran Reserva er af den nye skole. Mørk og intens med stor frugtrigdom. Robert Parker (Jay Miller) skriver om årgang 2004:"The 2004 Gran Reserva, from an outstanding Rioja vintage, has the same blend as the Reserva. It spent 32 months in American oak and 26 months in bottle prior to release. Dark ruby-colored, it exhibits an already complex bouquet of Asian spices, incense, cedar, leather, and black cherry. On the palate it is medium to full-bodied with loads of savory, ripe black fruit, excellent volume, and outstanding concentration. It will continue to blossom for another 2-3 years and offer a drinking window extending from 2012 to 2024." - April 2010.
